The position is open for Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, and Expert Software Engineer roles. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about building reliable and scalable healthcare systems that can directly improve patient care and healthcare operations.
Role Overview
In this role, you will work on designing and developing mission-critical healthcare integration solutions using the InterSystems technology stack. The primary platforms used include InterSystems Ensemble (IRIS for Health) and InterSystems HealthShare. These technologies are widely used in the healthcare industry to manage clinical data exchange and build secure, interoperable healthcare applications.
You will collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and healthcare professionals to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. The role requires strong analytical thinking, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will play an important role in architecting and developing enterprise-level healthcare integration systems. Your responsibilities will include designing, building, and optimizing healthcare solutions using the InterSystems stack.
You will also participate in defining design methodologies and implementing industry best practices to ensure high-quality development standards. As part of the development lifecycle, you will be responsible for writing clean and maintainable code, performing detailed code reviews, conducting unit testing, and ensuring smooth deployments.
Another important aspect of the role is ensuring system reliability and stability. You will support testing activities, participate in critical go-live deployments, and help resolve issues during production operations. The role may also include rotational after-hours support to ensure the availability of healthcare systems that operate continuously.
Required Experience and Skills
Candidates applying for this position should have 3 to 8 years of professional software engineering experience. Experience in the healthcare IT domain is highly preferred because the role involves working with healthcare integration standards and systems.
You should have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with InterSystems Ensemble, including custom component development, building HL7 interfaces, working with SQL adapters, and developing custom DTLs (Data Transformation Logic).
The role also requires strong experience with Cache Objects and Cache ObjectScript, which are essential components of the InterSystems platform used to build high-performance healthcare applications.
In addition, candidates should have experience developing and integrating REST or SOAP APIs and building scalable cloud-based solutions. Strong knowledge of healthcare data standards is also important.
Applicants should be comfortable working with XML and XSLT, and have experience with HL7v2 messaging standards, which are widely used for exchanging healthcare information between systems. Familiarity with CCD/CDA clinical document standards will also be valuable.
Preferred Skills
While not mandatory, certain additional skills will be considered an advantage. Experience with modern healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 FHIR will be highly valued.
Knowledge of InterSystems HealthShare or UCR (Unified Care Record) platforms will also strengthen your profile for this role.
Candidates with cloud computing experience are encouraged to apply. Experience working with Microsoft Azure services such as CosmosDB, Blob Storage, Azure Functions, DevOps tools, ARM Templates, and Service Bus will be beneficial. Alternatively, experience with Google Cloud technologies like BigQuery and Workflow can also be valuable.
Familiarity with additional programming languages such as C#, Python, or JavaScript frameworks will also be considered a plus, as these technologies are often used alongside healthcare integration platforms.
Why Join
This position offers a unique opportunity to work on innovative healthcare technology solutions that have a real impact on patient care and healthcare systems. You will be part of a team that focuses on solving complex healthcare challenges using advanced software engineering practices.
The organization encourages innovation, continuous learning, and professional development. Engineers working in this role will gain valuable experience in healthcare interoperability, cloud technologies, and enterprise-level software architecture.
